As part of Grade 1’s year-long unit of inquiry on different traditions and celebrations in the world, they learned about El Día de los Muertos (English: Day of the Dead) from one of our teachers who originally come from Mexico. The significance of the festival is to show the joy of life with colorful patterns, as well as the yearning and respect for the one who passed away from this world.
